Leveraging Art to Fund Ministry

Tony & Phyllis Thomas

I am a professional artist living in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. My wife and I lived and served as missionaries in Managua, Nicaragua from 2013-2018. We served at Nicaragua Christian Academy International (NCAI) and International Christian Fellowship. I taught pre-k through grade 12 art and publications. I coached the school’s fencing club and lead daily devotions with my 7th grade homeroom boys, as well as a small group during weekly chapel. I used my interaction with the students to foster relationships to train, disciple, support, and provide spiritual counsel.

Phyllis, an RN, worked as a resource person to fellow missionaries, NCAI, and local organizations. She organized and taught first aid and CPR classes for various organizations in Nicaragua, worked as a clinic nurse and administrative support person for AMOS Health and Hope, as well as worked with teams from the US for medical outreaches. She also served as the school nurse and health teacher at NCAI. Together, we also served in other outreaches working with at-risk children from entering prostitution, drugs, and life on the streets and raising up student leadership, equipping them to serve.

Due to ongoing, violent civil unrest, we made the difficult decision in May 2018 to leave our home, personal possessions, ministry and friends in Nicaragua. Even though we left the mission field due to civil unrest, we’re still on the mission field. We’re just missionaries in a different way! As an artist and Phyllis as a nurse.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to leverage our art to fund ministry. With my gift of creativity, I can create an exclusive line of art that will connect with your brand and audience.

I have a beautiful way to create expressive paintings that will dramatically communicate a child's need and bring their story to life. Leveraging stories and images through art is a powerful way to bring old and new friends together in order to bring awareness and impact the kingdom.

We would like to create a licensing arrangement and pay All God's Children International a licensing fee to be an official licensed artist.

Art and activities may include but not limited to:

  • Originals
  • High-end, limited, and open edition prints
  • Merchandise
  • Fundraising events
  • Shows
  • Auctions

Is this something that you would be open to explore?
